Pediatric Endocrinology Associates

The adrenal glands are located at the top of each kidney. They produce hormones that are essential to our body's functioning, such as sex hormones and a stress hormone known as cortisol.

Adrenal disorders are a result of these glands producing too much or not enough of those hormones

If your child needs to be evaluated upon concerns of an adrenal problem, call or text our office at (915) 642-9444 for an appointment or you can use our secure online appointment request form.

Adrenal Insufficiency (Addison's disease or congenital adrenal hypoplasia):

The adrenal glands produce insufficient hormones, usually caused by an autoimmune disorder.

Cushing's Syndrome (adrenal hyperactivity):

Adrenal glands produce too much cortisol, caused by a hormone producing tumor.
